boundary between jazz and middle-of-the-road
cabaret music.”

Ed Johnson
Classical. Brazilian. R&B. Jazz. Afro-Cuban. Popular Rock and Roll. ED JOHNSON's mastery of so many different styles, coupled with a passion for harmony vocal and horn arrangements, all factor into a magical blend of vibrant, original contemporary jazz that is winning fans and airplay worldwide. Ed’s original music is evocative of Brazilian pop, but unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Kat Parra
I have performed all styles of music: R&B, Motown, Blues, Top 40 and jazz. But it is Latin Jazz that calls to my soul more than anything. All these styles have brought me to the place where I now am, helping to shape my music in a much fuller way. Since I have a facility for languages, I am drawn to music from all over the world. (I sing in Spanish, Portuguese, Ladino and French.) But it is the music of the Spanish-speaking countries I most closely associate myself with. My focus is on Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, South American folklore, Sephardic music of the Spanish Jews and some Brazilian music, with a few standards thrown in for good measure. When all of these styles are combined, an amazing Jazz tapestry is created that is exciting and enthralling to listen to.

Denny Berthiaume
At the age of 5, Denny began his life long love of the piano and all things related to music. His father, a musician, teacher and composer saw to it that young Dennis was exposed to the early romantic sounds of Bach and Chopin. As well as the great American composers, Bernstein, Gershwin, Kern. An early memory while the family lived in Chicago is sitting on Arthur Fiedlers lap in the kitchen surrounded with the sounds and rhythms of the 40’s.

Wayne Wallace
“As the light on Post Street slowly started to dim, a quick glance at the San Jose Jazz Festival’s Latin Stage would have revealed a few of the same faces from John Calloway’s set earlier in the day. But the similarities between that band and Wayne Wallace’s Latin Jazz Quintet pretty much stop there. Bringing a heavy clave beat and a funky attitude, Wallace’s band made it clear from the first note that they were here to get down. NOW.”
